Jarod Bertrand is one of only a handful of players to be selected as a four-time All-Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer selection. He was also a three-time all-region pick and the 1999 MVC Tournament Most Valuable Player. A native of St. Louis, Mo., he came to MSU after a much-honored prep career at St. Dominic High School. He was a two-time pick for the all-league tournament team (1999 and 2001) and was on the MVC All-Newcomer Team his freshman season (1998). Bertrand started 79 of his 80 career matches from 1998-2001 and helped the Bears roll up 49 wins for Coach Jon Leamy. Bertrand finished with 14 goals and 20 assists over his career and was a member of the first MSU unbeaten team in 1999 which won The Valley regular-season and tournament titles en route to an NCAA Tournament appearance. He ranked third on MSU's career assists list at the time he completed his career. He was a 2002 Major Indoor Soccer League draft pick in the third round by St. Louis.
