LONNIE ADAMS
Football, Basketball and Track, 1929-33
Inducted November 7, 1981

A three-sport lettermen from the early 1930's, Lonnie Adams came to Missouri State University from Quapaw, Oklahoma, and was a Bear stalwart in football, basketball and track from 1929 through 1933. Operating as a halfback and quarterback, he was an integral part of three MIAA runnerup clubs in football for Coach Arthur Briggs, and was captain of the 1932 MSU gridders when he operated exclusively at quarterback. Adams lettered twice in track under Coach Speedy Collins, setting a new school mark in the high jump at 6-3. He helped the Bears to an MIAA indoor championship in 1932 and to the league outdoor tile the following season. His school mark in the high jump came in the 1933 conference meet. Adams was a guard and forward for Coach Andy McDonald for four years on the hardwoods, including playing on a league title team in 1931 and runnerup squads the next two seasons.
