GLENDA BOND
Basketball-Softball, 1973-76
Inducted February 10, 2001

Glenda Bond came to MSU from Neosho, Mo., and was a basketball guard and softball shortstop/third baseman in a two-sport playing career from 1973 to 1976. Teaming with all-time MSU standout Cindy Henderson, Bond played on the 1973-74 basketball squad which posted a 21-7 record for coach Reba Sims, won an AIAW state championship, and reached the AIAW regional tourney in Lawrence, Kan., where MSU finished third. The Lady Bears repeated their AIAW state tourney title in 1975 in an overall 16-10 season and had another third-place regional finish with Bond in the lineup. The softball Bears of coach Kay Hunter were also in a run of success during those years, including an AIAW state title in 1974 with a team that went on to defeat Massachusetts, Luther, Eastern Illinois Wayne State and Northern Colorado to bring MSU an AIAW national championship. The softball Bears finished third in state AIAW play in both 1975 and 1976.
