KELLY MAGO PESANO
Basketball, 1984-88
Inducted May 5, 1997

Kelly Mago was a starter for the basketball Lady Bears of coaches Valerie Goodwin-Colbert and Cheryl Burnett from 1984-88 and played on an 18-10 Gateway Conference runner-up club as a junior. Mago gave the Lady Bears a stong inside presence as she led the team in scoring, field goals, field goal percentage and rebounding two seasons each. Her 1,482 points ranked third on the all-time MSU career list at the time she graduated and she was also third with 696 career rebounds. Mago was also in the top 10 in field goals, field goal percentage, rebound average and blocked shots. She set a single game shooting record by going 16-of-16 from the field against Bradley on Feb. 18, 1988. She was an all-Gateway first team selection her last two years, was the first winner of the Lady Bear Prestige Award, and was picked for the MSU All-Decade team in basketball in 1992.
