Tammy Holloway played for the softball Bears in Kay Hunter's final season as head coach of the program, played for Jim Webb for two years and played for Mary Phyl Dwight as a senior in a career which ran from 1982 to 1985. Holloway helped the Bears to a regional title and trip to the World Series in 1982 in AIAW play, and was then a member of the Bears' first Gateway Collegiate Athletic Conference team which won the league tourney title at Macomb, Ill., and advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional in 1983. The Bears' catcher, Holloway set a Bears' school career record with 18 triples her four seasons at SMS. She was named to the MSU All-Decade team in 1992 and was an all-conference first team selection in 1983 and 1984.
