CAROLE MYERS
Basketball, Softball, Field Hockey 1969-73
Inducted May 10, 1984

Carole Myers was a basketball, softball, and field hockey standout for the first women’s varsity teams at Missouri State. Myers was a forward/center for the basketball team of coach Reba Sims, a catcher for the softball Bears of coach Kay Hunter and a goalkeeper for the field hockey team of coach Rhonda Ridinger. As a freshman in 1969, when the first MSU varsity women’s sports programs were started, Myers stepped into starting assignments in three sports, and before she graduated she was a leading rebounder in basketball, the top goalie in field hockey and a leading hitter in softball while working behind the plate. All three sports had winning records during her playing days, and the three teams all won state championships during Myers' playing days. After leaving Missouri State, Myers joined the women’s professional softball league when it was founded and played two years each on the Michigan Travelers and the St. Louis Hummers.
