Basketball, 1996-99
Inducted 2011

Danny Moore transferred to Missouri State as sophomore and was the leading scorer and rebounder for three seasons for the basketball Bears of coach Steve Alford. A 6-foot-11 postman with a deft outside shooting touch, Moore set MSU career marks for free throws made and attempted (538 of 685) and blocked shots (167), and he hit .785 from the foul line and .538 from the field over the 98 games of his Bears' career. Moore wound up fifth on the MSU career scoring list with 1,691 points. He's 10th in field goal percentage, ninth in 20-point games, third in double-figure point games, 12th in rebounds and seventh in field goals. He was a Missouri Valley Conference two-time all-league first team pick and was twice voted to receive the MSU Coors Player of the Year Award. Moore capped his career by leading the Bears national tournament wins over Wisconsin and Tennessee and into the NCAA Sweet 16 as senior. MSU played in the NIT when Moore was a sophomore.
