Blake Boldon (1999-2003) was a Missouri Valley Conference indoor and outdoor Most Valuable Performer in track during his four seasons as a Bears' standout distance performer. He won the league's indoor MVP honor for the 2002-03 season after claiming conference meet titles in the 1,500-meter run and the 3,000-meter run. He also won the outdoor honor as he won the 1,500-meter run at the league meet; also winning it at the Drake Relays. He was a five-time MVC champion with four USA Track and Field top 10 national finishes. A native of Osceola, Iowa, he set MSU school records in the indoor mile at 4:03.63 minutes and the outdoor 1,500 meter-run at 3:42.73 minutes. He won his events at Drake, Kansas and Sea Ray Relays. Boldon earned College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America laurels as both junior and a senior, collecting first team honors his senior season. He qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 1,500-meter run as a senior, and finished in 19th place.
