Football and Basketball, 1924-28
Inducted September 22, 1979

A native of Stackton, Tom Dodd was a four-year MSU basketballer and was on the Bear football team his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Coach Andy McDonald’s basketball Bears were 11-3 Dodd’s freshman year and he played his first season as center. The Bears were 10-10 next year and wound up fourth in the league with Dodd regarded as the club’s top defensive player. Missouri State put everything together in 1927-28 and won 18 of 22 games and the MIAA championship. Dodd was the team captain and also was selected to the all-conference five. The Bears were second in the loop in his senior season and Dodd was a member of the Bears’ conference championship team in football in 1928.
