CARA HACKMANN McCULLY
Volleyball, 2007-2010
Cara Hackmann was a four-year regular for the volleyball Bears of Coach Melissa Stokes from 2007 to 2010 and put together a record-setting and much-honored playing career during her seasons playing in Hammons Student Center. A product of St. Francis Borgia High in Washington, Mo., Hackmann was the Missouri Valley Conference Libero of the Year and MVC Defensive Player of Year during her playing days. She set a Missouri State record for career digs, was a two-time MVC all-conference and academic all-conference selection, won all-district honors twice, and was the Most Valuable Player in the 2008 MVC tournament. Hackmann was first in MSU career digs (1,913) when she graduated and she was the 2009 National Libero of the Year. She ranked fifth in the nation in total digs (671) and digs per set (5.74) in 2009; both MSU records at the time. A co-captain for the Bears as a junior and senior, Hackmann holds the MSU single-match hitting percentage record, collecting 15 kills without an attack error vs. IPFW on 9/12/08. MSU posted a cumulative record of 90-41 during her four seasons.
