EFTON HENDERSON
Football, 1920-23
Inducted October 28, 1978

One of the most memorable of all Bruin gridders in the early days of Missouri State football was Efton "Heavy" Henderson. Henderson came to MSU from nearby Monett, Missouri and was a two-way standout for the Bears at 5-9 and 165 pounds. He lettered four years for MSU from 1920-23 and he played for the 1922 team which went undefeated and set a single season scoring record which still stands. Henderson was also the captain of the 1923 MSU team and was a steady performer and consistent ground-gainer from the fullback position. He passed away in September of 1978.
