Jennifer Grocki was a two-year starting MSU soccer goalkeeper and she posted a school record 1.29 career goals against average for the Bears and a season record 1.06 average as a senior. She set season school records of 143 saves and 9 shutouts for the 2000 Bears' team of Coach Rob Brewer and also owns career records of 245 saves and 10 shutouts. A native of Kingwood, Texas, Grocki began her college career at the University of Texas and transferred to MSU for her final two seasons. She was an all-Missouri Valley Conference and all-region pick as junior and she was on the Valley all-tournament team. As a senior, Grocki was all-Valley first team and MVC Defensive Player of Year as senior, as she was named the Missouri State Most Valuable Player two years in a row. She was also selected for the Valley scholar-athlete team in soccer. After a school record 14-win season in 1999, MSU won 12 games in 2000. The Bears started 3-7 but rebounded as Grocki posted shutouts in five of the next seven games. MSU swept to the title of the Valley tournament on consecutive shutouts by Grocki in wins of 5-0 over Northern Iowa, 1-0 in overtime over Illinois State, and 1-0 in the championship game against Evansville. Grocki was the tournament's Most Valuable Player. MSU advanced to its initial NCAA tournament appearance and a 2-0 first-round loss to Arizona State. Grocki played semi-pro soccer with the Kansas City Mystics after her senior season and returned to MSU to assist as a student coach in 2001 to complete her undergraduate degree. She earned an MBA at Indiana State University and began a career with Napa Auto Parts that included 10 years in Louisville, Ky. She is now operations manager for a Napa distribution center in Indianapolis, Ind.
