MARY BECK
Volleyball, 1981-84
Inducted May 5, 1997
Mary Beck starred for the volleyball Bears of coach Linda Dollar from 1981 to 1984 and played on an AIAW regional tourney championship team as a freshman and an NCAA tourney team as a sophomore. Missouri State University was the Gateway Collegiate Athletic Conference runner-up in Beck's final two seasons. She ranked among the Bears' all-time career leaders in games, matches, blocks, block assists and set a career record with 198 service aces in her four seasons. Beck also set the single season service ace mark with 91 in 1982. She was an all-tournament selection at the inaugural Gateway league meet in 1982 and was an all-conference first team selection for the Bears each of her final two years. She was also selected to participate in the National Sports Festival after her sophomore season at MSU.
