Carol Nations was an extraordinary athlete competing in more than half of MSU women's sports when virtually all those teams were in their formative years. Nations played volleyball, basketball and field hockey and competed in gymnastics and track and was also active in swimming. She was active in a number of other scholastic and academic organizations while at MSU and was a member of the synchronized swim club. She won medals in track for the javelin and 440-yard relay, competed on the uneven bars and trampoline in gymnastics and was a multi-even swimmer.
