Outdoor: Competed in two meets… Opened her freshman campaign at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 26) clearing 3.30 meters in the pole vault… Competed at the Missouri State Invitational (April 22) where she cleared 3.21 meters in the pole vault.

Background: Participated in pole vault all four years at Timberland... Competed in long jump her junior year, while sprinting her freshman and sophomore years... Was a state qualifier for pole valut her junior and senior years... Holds the Timberland High School record in the pole vault that she recorded her senior year.

Personal: Julia Arline James was born January 21 to Jack and Joan James in St. Louis, Mo.... Following in her mother's footsteps by attending MSU... Has one brother, Jack... Plans to major in entertainment management here at MSU... Aspires to work for a convention center or stadium upon graduation.
