Indoor: Did not compete for the Bears.
Outdoor: Competed in three meets… Opened her freshman campaign at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 26) throwing 7.31 meters in the shot put… Traveled to the Tom Botts Invitational (April 16), competing in the shot put (8.39 meters) and hammer throw (36.21 meters)… Concluded her first season at the Missouri State Invitational (April 22) where she finished 12th in the shot put (8.40 meters) and seventh in the hammer throw (35.15 meters).
Background: Participated in the 200 meter, 400 meter, and 4x400 meter relay at Mullen High under the direction of John Hancock her sophomore and junior years... Earned academic all-state and varsity letters in track both of her two seasons... Played four years of basketball at Mullen High... Attended Tennessee State from 2013-2014.
Personal: Adriane Christine Pickering was born April 24, 1995 in Dallas, Texas... Her grandfather, Sam Pegues, participated in track and field at Oklahoma State... Her brother, Calvin Pickering, has played professional baseball for the Red Sox, Orioles, and the Royals... Expected to major in exercise and movement science at MSU... Would like to obtain her master's degree after completing her undergrad here.
