Indoor: Competed in five meets … Opened the indoor season with a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.77) at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 2) … Also posted a time of 7.77 in the 60-meter dash prelims at the Missouri Invitational (Jan 20) to finish fourth to drop time to 7.72 in the finals… Collected a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.52 and helped a relay team to a seventh-place finish (4:11.05) in the 4x400-meter relay… At the Arkansas State Invitational (Jan. 26-27), posted a time of 7.34 in the 55-meter dash prelims and dropped time in the event finals to 7.20 for a fourth-place finish… Also competed in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 25.79… Turned in a time of 7.64 in the 60-meter dash at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 2-3)… Turned in a time of 7.64 in the 60-meter dash prelims at the Gorilla Classic (Feb. 10-11) and took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.54… At the MVC Indoor Championship (Feb. 25-26), posted a time of 7.85 in the 60-meter dash prelims and a time of 26.51 in the 200-meter dash prelims.
Outdoor: Competed in seven meets … Opened the outdoor season with a time of 12.09 in the 100-meter dash at the Bulldog Relays (March 17-18) and led the 4x100-meter relay team to a first place finish (46.04)… Posted a time of 12;27 in the 100-meter dash at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 25) and 25.22 in the 200-meter dash…Competed at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 30-April1) in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87 and helped the 4x100-meter relay team with a time of 46.80… Led the 4x400-meter relay team to a silver medal finish with a time of 45.85 at the Tom Botts Invitational (March 14-15) … Posted a time of 11.86 in the 100-meter dash at the John Jacobs Invitational (March 21-22) and helped the 4x100-meter team with a time of 46.11… Took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87 at Rock Chalk Classic (March 28) and posted a time of 25.40 in the 200-meter dash… Also helped the 4x100-meter relay with at time of 45.89… At the MVC Outdoor Championship (May 12-14), advanced out of the 100-meter dash prelims (11.71), the 200-meter dash prelims (24.15), 200-meter prelims run off (23.78) and finished eighth in the 200-meter finals with a time of 24.58…Also collected a bronze medal with the 4x100-meter relay team with a time of 45.09.
2015-16 Track & Field:
Indoor: Competed in five meets… Opened freshman campaign at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 4), competing in three events – 60-meter dash (7.67), 200-meter dash (25.51), and the 4x400-meter relay (4:09.62)… Raced to a third-place finish at the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 15) in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.66) and finished second in the finals (7.59) while finishing 16h in the 200-meter dash (25.54)… Finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.67) and finals (7.63) at the Pittsburg State Invitational (Jan. 29) and ran a season-best 24.91 in the 200-meter dash… Just missed the 60-meter dash finals at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 5-6) after clocking in a time of 7.68 seconds… Finished her freshman season at the MVC championships (Feb. 27-28) where she finished seventh in the 60-meter dash prelims (7.66) to advance to the finals and snag a fifth-place finish and season-best time (7.58); she also finished 11th in the 200-meter dash prelims (25.53).
Outdoor: Competed in seven meets… Opened her freshman campaign at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 26) competing in the 100-meter dash (11.76 seconds), 4x100-meter relay (45.36 seconds) and the 4x400-meter relay (4:07.74)… Continued the season at the Margaret Simmons Invitational (April 1), finishing second in the 200-meter dash (25.01 seconds) and was a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay team (46.58 seconds)… Finished seventh in the 100-meter dash prelims (12.17 seconds) and fifth in the finals (11.89 seconds) and also competed in the 200-meter dash (25.74 seconds) at the Gibson Invitational (April 9)… Traveled to the Tom Botts Invitational (April 16) where she finished sixth in the 100-meter dash (11.99 seconds) and was on the second-place 4x100-meter dash team (45.41 seconds)… Recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.80 seconds) and was a member of a 4x400-meter relay team (4:00.80) at the Missouri State Invitational (April 22)… Finished fifth in the 100-meter dash (11.95 seconds), seventh in the 200-meter dash (24.46 seconds) and was a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay squad (45.25 seconds) at the Jace LaCoste Invitational (April 30)… Completed the season at the MVC Outdoor Championships (May 13-15) finishing sixth in the 200-meter dash prelims (24.38 seconds) and eighth in the finals (25.32 seconds) and earned the gold medal in the 4x100-meter relay with a season-best performance of 45.19 seconds.
Background: A four-year track and field athlete, Cave started her freshman season competing in the 800m dash and high jump... She earned third and fourth in the BSSAC 100m dash and high jump, respectively... Finished first among all girls at her school her junior year in the 100m, 200m, 400m, high jump, long jump, and 800m, earning first at the BSSAC in the 100m dash... Voted best sprinter and best jumper her senior seasons at her school... Won the gold medal in both the 100m dash and 800m run at the BSSAC her senior year.
Personal: The Barbados native was born April 13 to Carlisle Cave and Dona Skeete-Cave in Bridgetown... Has one brother named Brad... Pursuing an education in accounting at MSU and hopes to be a chartered accountant upon graduation from MSU.
