Indoor: Competed in six meets … Opened the season with a time of 8.15 in the 60-meter dash at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 2), finished second in the triple jump with 11.92 meters and was third in the long jump with 5.38 meters … At the Missouri Invitational (Jan. 20), took third in the long jump with 5.45 meters … Finished second in the triple jump for 11.65 meters and took fourth in the long jump, posting 5.4 meters at the Jayhawk Classic (Jan. 27) … At the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 3-4) turned in 5.47 meters in the long jump … Took fourth in the Triple Jump with 11.69 meters at the Gorilla Classic (Feb. 10-11) … At the MVC Indoor Championship (Feb. 25-26) took fourth in the triple jump with 12.16 meters and sixth in the long jump 5.81 meters.
 
Outdoor: Competed in two meets … At Mississippi State Bulldog Relays (March 17-18), turned in 11.71 meters to finish third in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump, 5.47 meters … Turned in 5.51 meters in the long jump at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (Feb. 25)

2015-16 Track & Field
Indoor: Competed in six meets… Started the season taking second in the triple jump (11.72 meters) and third in the long jump (5.45 meters) at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 4)… Continued her jumping success at the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 15) where she leapt to a team-leading fourth-place finish in the triple jump (11.87 meters) and 10th-place finish in the long jump (5.45 meters)… Earned second top-five finish in the long jump (5.62 meters) and finished sixth in the triple jump (11.95 meters) at the Pittsburg State Invitational (Jan. 29)… Leapt to a team-leading 5.52 meters in the long jump at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (Feb. 5-6)… Collected fourth-place in the triple jump (11.87 meters) at the Gorilla Classic… Closed out the season at the conference championships (Feb. 27-28) where she leapt a season-best 12.03 meters and 5.57 meters in the triple jump and long jump, respectively.

Outdoor: Competed in six meets… Opened the season at the Arkansas Spring Invitational (March 26) finishing fourth in the long jump (5.84 meters) and triple jump (11.95 meters)… Continued at the Margaret Simmons Invitational (April 1) where she finished second in the triple jump (11.93 meters)… Finished sixth in the long jump (5.42 meters) and fifth in the triple jump (11.48 meters)… Traveled to the Tom Botts Invitational (April 16) recording a leap of 5.64 meters in the long jump and 12.22 meters in the triple jump… Tallied a fourth-place finish in the long jump (5.69 meters) and leapt to a personal best mark of 12.29 meters in the triple jump at the Missouri State Invitational (April 22)… Concluded the season at the MVC Outdoor Championships (May 13-15) jumping 5.40 meters in the long jump and finishing fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.22 meters.

2014-15 Track & Field
Indoor: Competed in six meets ... Opened her collegiate career at the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 9) with a ninth place finish in the long jump (5.21m) and a fourth place finish in the triple jump (11.41m) ... In the long jump at the Missouri Invitational (Jan. 16), finished 14th with a distance of 5.07m ... At the UAB Vulcan Invitational (Jan. 23) placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.52m and fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.67m ... Recorded a 11.67m in the triple jump at the UAB Green & Gold Invitational (Jan. 24) to place fifth ... At the Purdue Fred Wilt Invitational (Feb. 14), placed fifth in the long jump with a 5.48m and fourth in the triple jump with a 11.95m ... At the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships recorded personal bests in the long jump finals (5.76m) and in the triple jump finals (12.14m).

Background:Competed for coach Patrick Russell in the long jump and triple jump at Sinclair Secondary School ... As a sophomore, placed eighth and 13th, respectively, in the long jump and triple jump at the OFSAA Championships ... In her junior year, placed fifth and eighth, respectively, at the OFSAA Championships ... In the Youth National Championships, placed fifth in long jump and third in triple jump.

Personal: Daija Hailene Heron was born March 16, 1996 in Scarborough, Ontario ... Daughter of Doug Heron and Kaitano Jeffers ... Has two brothers, DeJhon and Daunte.
