Indoor: Competed in three meets … Opened the season at the Missouri Invitational (Jan. 20) posting 10.31 meters in shot put … Posted a time of 10.07 in the 60-meter hurdles prelims at the Gorilla Classic (Feb. 10-11), turned in a height of 1.46 meters in the high jump and 4.60 meters in the long jump … At the MVC Indoor Championship (Feb. 25-26), finished with 3,168 points in the pentathlon, including a fourth-place finish in the shot put (11.50 meters) … Also at the MVC Championship, turned in a height of 1.51 meters in the high jump.
 
Outdoor: Competed in three meets … At the John Jacobs Invitational (April 21-22), turned in a time of 25.08 in the 200-meter dash and a time of 16.22 in the 100-meter hurdles … Also, posted 5.31 meters in the long jump, 10.29 meters in the shot put, and 33.32 meters in the javelin at the John Jacobs Invitational … In the 100-meter hurdles at the Rock Chalk Classic (April 28) finished seventh with a time of 14.98, sixth in the long jump with 5.39 meters and sixth in the javelin with 31.30 meters… At the MVC Championship (May 12-14), finished eighth in the heptathlon with 4,817 points including a fourth-place finish in the shot put with 12.10 meters … Also, posted 5.16 meters in the long jump and 33.86 meters in the javelin throw for the Bears at the MVC Championship.

Background: Transferred from Essex County College in New Jersey ... Was named a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field All-American for the 2015 season ... Finished second at the 2016 NJCAA Outdoor National Championships in the heptathlon.

Personal: Chelsey Tiffany Linton was born May 17 in Roseau, Dominicia ... Has five siblings ... Plans to study accounting and business while attending MSU.
