Named to All-MAC second team…Earned squad silver medal in 200 medley relay and made podium appearances in the 100 and 200 back at MAC Championships (March 4-7)…Recorded first individual and relay victories in 100 back and 200 medley relay at Kansas Double Dual (October 11-12)…Followed it up with another 100 back win at Indiana State Invitational (October 19-20)…Rounded out MSU A-final finishers in 100 back at SMU Invite (November 21-23)…Part of sixth-place 200 medley relay finish at Shamrock Invitational (January 24-25).
Background
Witzki was a 3 Time MSHSAA Class 2 State Champion with a title in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly in 2017, and one title in the 100 backstroke in 2018. Witzki was on Liberty High School’s record-board 7 times, 4 of them in individual events, by the end of his senior season. He was a Scholastic All American, and a NISCA High School All-American in the 100 fly and 100 backstroke. Witzki also left with seven conference records. He qualified and competed in the 2018 Speedo West Winter Junior National Championships.
