'Ted' Willis MVP and Honorable Mention All-Missouri Valley Conference (DH) after turning in a career year in which he led the club in home runs while batting .324 in 49 games...Ranked seventh in the Valley with a team-high eight home runs and eighth in slugging (.511)...Started the season with four hits in his first seven at-bats, Feb. 19-24, including a 3-for-4 day against Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 24)...Clubbed two homers in a game for the second time in his MSU career, April 3 vs. Arkansas State; finished 3-for-4 with a career-high four RBIs in his 100th game as a Bear, a 5-2 victory...Followed up that effort with his third-straight multi-hit game April 4, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a career-best three runs scored in MSU[apos]s 12-5 win over the Red Wolves...Went 3-for-9 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored in MSU[apos]s two-game sweep of Illinois State (April 13-14) to push his streak to a career-best 11 games...Hit .419 (18-for-43) over the course of his hit streak (March 30-April 14)...Hit his second walk-off homer as a Bear April 29 to beat SIU, 1-0; also went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs April 29 to help MSU beat the Salukis, 12-6, to take the series...Homered in back-to-back games at Indiana State, May 18-19, to help the Bears take two of three from the MVC champs...Hit .438 with a homer and five RBIs in four games to earn MVC All-Tournament honors...Named to the NCAA Coral Gables All-Regional team after hitting .500 (7-for-14) with a home run and seven RBIs over three games...Doubled twice and matched career highs for hits (3) and RBIs (4) to help the Bears eliminate host and top seed Miami (Fla.), 12-2, on June 2...Homered and drove in three more runs the following day in a 10-7 loss to Stony Brook.

2011: Started 26 games in left field and played in 33 as a sophomore, batting .282 with nine RBIs and 11 runs scored in 110 at-bats...Began the season with multiple hits in seven of the first 10 games, including three-hit outings against Nebraska (Feb. 20) and UT-Arlington (Feb. 26)...Hit safely in 18 of the season[apos]s first 43 at bats...Stole home March 4 against North Dakota...Played for the Alton Indians of the St. Louis Metro League in the summer, batting .358 with 16 RBIs, 27 runs and 14 steals in 24 games.

2010: Finished third on the Bears in hitting as a freshman, batting .281 with five home runs and 25 RBIs...Was second on the squad with 13 doubles and 19 extra-base hits for a .456 slugging percentage...Slugged two homers, including a two-run walk-off shot, to beat Missouri at home (April 14)...Scored 23 runs and was perfect in three steal attempts...All 46 starts came in left field, while he batted cleanup 26 times...Had 14 multi-hit games, including three hits against Missouri (April 14) and Southern Illinois (May 22)...Closed season on a seven-game hitting streak, and hit safely in 10 of the first 11 games in April...Hit .271 in 39 games for the Glen Falls Golden Eagles of the New York Collegiate League in the summer.

Background: Maddox was a four-year starter for the Parkway West Longhorns in St. Louis...Hit .293, drove in 26 runs and saw nearly half of his hits go for extra bases during his senior season...As a freshman, he was a first-team all-state pick and the Missouri High School Coaches Newcomer of the Year after hitting .482 with 35 RBIs and 15 extra-base hits...Hit .269 as a sophomore and earned second-team all-conference laurels, and was a .275 hitter as a junior...Also started at running back for the Longhorn football team for much of his prep career.
