
Baseball Ends Regional Run with 5-1 Loss to Northeastern

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Missouri State's 2026 baseball season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 5-1 loss to Northeastern in the Lawrence Regional at Hoglund Ballpark.
The Bears (34-21) and Huskies (39-21) were in a pitcher's duel through five innings, with NU getting a first inning run off Mo State senior Jason Schaaf (4-3) while Robbie O'Connor (10-2) held Missouri State off the board until the seventh.
Northeastern broke through with two doubles and a homer to begin the sixth and make it 4-0, and the Bears scored on back-to-back doubles by Jax Ryan and Carter Bergman in the seventh for their lone run and the team's only game scoring fewer than two runs all season.
The Huskies added an unearned tally in the ninth, as Ross Felder went 3.1 innings with four strikeouts before Curry Sutherland got the final two outs.
