LAWRENCE, Kan. – Missouri State jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on Arkansas Friday evening, but the Razorbacks tallied eight unanswered runs in the middle innings on the way to a 9-5 victory over the Bears in the Lawrence Regional at Hoglund Ballpark.

Bryce Cermenelli began Mo State's 13^th regional appearance with a home run on the second pitch, his second leadoff homer in three games, and Taeg Gollert added a two-run single, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Caden Bogenpohl's single for a quick 2-0 lead.

Starter Max Knight held the 14^th-ranked Hogs (40-20) in check by matching a season high with seven strikeouts in four innings, and it was 3-0 Bears (34-20) in the fourth after Carter Bergman walked and scored on a Gabe Roessler squeeze bunt.

Arkansas responded with a run off Knight in the fourth, his only blemish, then erupted for six runs on five hits and three walks in the fifth to lead 7-3.

The Razorbacks made it 8-3 in the sixth and the Bears rallied one last time in the eighth, loading the bases with one out and getting a two-run double from Curry Sutherland before Ethan McElvain got out of the jam with no further damage and pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

Cermenelli went 3-for-3 and reached safely five times and has a hit in the first inning of his last seven games.

The Bears meet Northeastern (38-21) at noon Saturday in an elimination game.
