Juenger Makes MLB Debut with Blue Jays

BALTIMORE, Md. – Hayden Juenger became the 25^th Missouri State baseball alum to play in the Major Leagues Sunday afternoon when he appeared in relief for the Toronto Blue Jays against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

Juenger, who was called up by the reigning American League champions on May 30, wore No. 70 and entered the game in the sixth inning and allowed three runs to the Orioles in an inning of work.

A sixth-round pick of Toronto in 2021, Juenger quickly rose to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons in 2022 and has spent parts of the last five seasons there. In 209 career minor league appearances, Juenger is 20-15 with a 4.45 ERA and 12 saves, pitching 313.2 innings with 353 strikeouts and a .242 opponent batting average.

In three seasons at Mo State from 2019-21, the O'Fallon, Ill., native pitched in 50 games, compiling a 5-7 record with 10 saves and 98 strikeouts in 87 innings with a 4.14 ERA.
