Background: Came to MSU after a prolific prep career at Clinton High School, where the right-handed pitcher/infielder picked up first-team all-state honors from the Missouri Baseball Coaches Association...Led Clinton to its third district title in his four-year high school career...Posted a 7-0 mound mark and a 0.60 ERA with 80 strikeouts in just 46 innings of work as a senior...Hit .453 with a pair of homers, 30 RBIs and 25 runs scored...Went 5-2 on the mound in 2011, while garnering all-conference honors as an infielder as well, batting .413 as a junior and .397 as a sophomore...Earned all-district nods as a sophomore and junior as well, and picked up all-tournament recognition at the Missouri Junior Sunbelt Classic in the summer of 2011...Lettered as a freshman for a Clinton squad that advanced to the state quarterfinals and included current Bear hurler Nick Petree.
