High School in which he compiled a 7-1 record while posting a sparkling 0.74 earned run average over 57 innings...Fanned nearly four hitters (63) for each one he walked (16) and held the opposition to a .142 batting average against to pick up St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro honors...Added five more victories and registered a 1.81 ERA while pitching for Post 199, which went 37-8 over the summer and came within one win of advancing to the American Legion World Series...Received academic all-state recognition and was a National Honor Society member.
