MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Missouri State track and field team wrapped up the day at the Ward Haylett Invitational with big performances from several of the team's freshmen on Friday.
 
Freshman Olivia Rogers led the pack all day. In the 100-meter dash, Rogers finished first with a time of 11.82. Later in the day, she won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.83.
 
The native of Dearborn, Mo. also ran with an all-freshman group of sprinters in the 4x100-meter relay. Rogers along with Brianna Howard, Kayleigh Jenkins and Alyssa Ball won the race with a time of 46.24. All four runners placed in the top-five of the 100-meter dash.
 
The Bears final win of the day came from another freshman in the 5000-meter run. Riley Bryan won the race with a time of 17:58.80. The is her third time winning the event this season.
 
"Today was a long day with a lot of adversity," head coach Jordan Fife said. "Hats off to the team for finding ways to compete even when chasing a PR wasn't in the cards. Sometimes you have to be able to just battle with the people around you and we did just that."
 
MoState heads back to Arkansas for its penultimate meet of the season on May 3.
