Track and Field Bears Wrap Up the Day at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Missouri State track and field team wrapped up its penultimate meet of the indoor season with seven top-10 finishes at the Arkansas Qualifier hosted by the University of Arkansas on Friday.

The Bears had four top-10 finishers in the high jump with MoState taking the third, fourth, fifth and sixth place finishes. Kayleigh Jenkins led the Bears in the event with a personal-best of 1.66 meters. Linzy Williams took fourth and DaeLin Switzer took fifth with attempts of 1.66 meters as well. Maggie Haase rounded out the Bears showing in high jump with her sixth-place finish and attempt of 1.61 meters.

Missouri State had another field event top-10 finish with Brooke Jenkins' ninth-place finish in long jump. Jenkins secured her spot with an attempt of 5.32 meters.

The Bears had a pair of top-10 finishes in the track events. Kayliegh Jenkins started the day off with a 10^th place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.74. Later, Mia McLain wrapped up the day for MoState with a sixth-place finish in the 3000-meter with a personal best of 10:05.79.

"We had some really good performances today," head coach Jordan Fife said. "We were hoping for more across the board, but it was good to see several athletes continue their progression this indoor season."

Next weekend, the Bears are off to the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship in Chicago, Feb. 25-26, to close out the indoor season.
