Keeping Track of the Bears
- The Missouri State track and field team is heading to the windy city for the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship on Feb. 25 – 26 at Gately Park in Chicago. Competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday and 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
- Both days of competition will be shown on ESPN+ and live results will be available.
- MoState is ranked 25th in the Midwest region ahead of 28th Illinois State and unranked UIC.
- The Bears will send 16 athletes to compete in 11 events across both days of the championship.
- Eight freshmen will make their MVC debut in the meet.
- Freshmen Olivia Rogers and Kayleigh Jenkins will compete in the 60-meter dash for the Bears after qualifying with the fifth and 16th fastest times in the MVC.
- Head coach Jordan Fife is also sending two relay teams to compete in Chicago. The 4x400-meter relay team of Rogers, Victory Ifah, Seleena Morris, Whitney Farrington and Meghan Halstead qualified with the third fastest time in the Valley this season (3:49.32).
- The Bears will also compete in the distance medley relay. Earlier this season, the team of Ella Cronhardt, Chloe Ezell, Tabitha Fox and Mary Margaret Harris recorded the second fastest time in the conference with a result of 12:11.23.
- The Bears were picked to finish ninth in the pre-championship poll.
