PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Missouri State track and field team finished its day at the Pittsburg State Invitational with 15 top-10 finishes on Saturday.

"There was definitely improvement from our wake-up call a week ago, but we knew we couldn't get it all back in one week," head coach
Jordan Fife said.

Olivia Rogers was the sole first place finisher for the Bears. In the qualifying round of the 60-meter dash, Rogers finished the race in 7.66 seconds. Rogers ran the exact same time in the prelim round to finish in 10
th place.

Kayleigh Jenkins also recorded a top-10 finish in the 60-meter dash qualifying round. The freshman crossed the finish line in 7.71 seconds.

The Bears had a pair of top-10 finishes in field events.
DaeLin Switzer placed eight in the high jump with an attempt of 1.58 meters and
Brooke Jenkins placed ninth in the long jump with an attempt of 5.43 meters.

MoState had its most top-10 finishes in the distance events.
Ella Cronhardt and
Mary Margaret Harris finished third and fourth in the 1-mile run, respectively. Cronhardt finished the race in 5:03.98 and Harris in 5:07.30.

Both Bears who competed in the 3000-meter run placed within the top 10.
Grace Buschling finished in ninth place with a time of 10:43.02 and
Britta Foust finished in 10
th with a time of 10:58.82.

The 5000-meter run saw the most Bears within the top 10.
Mia McLain finished in sixth place with a time of 17:48.92 and
Riley Bryan finished right behind her in seventh with a time of 17:52.08.
Margo Nea was next in ninth place with a time of 17:56.21.

The final events of the day were the 4x400-meter relay and the distance medley relay. In the 4x400-meter relay, the Missouri State team of
Victory Ifah,
Seleena Morris,
Meghan Halstead and
Whitney Farrington ran the race in 3:56.16 to finish in eighth.

In the first distance medley of the season, both Bears teams placed in the top-10. The team of Cronhardt,
Chloe Ezell,
Tabitha Fox and Harris placed third with a time of 12:11.23, while the team of
Kylie Ghormley,
Mirabella Redman,
Ella Conklin and
Adrien Martens placed seventh with a time of 12:24.66.

Ella Cronhardt had a really strong day with her big mile PR and lead off leg on the distance medley relay. Our 5-kilometer group of Mia, Riley, Margo and Grace all had big PRs.
Olivia Rogers had a great day highlighted by her two 60-meter races.

The Bears will head to the University of Nebraska next Saturday for the Frank Sevigne Invite.
