Finished career as the program record holder in the 200-yard (1:46.51), 1000-yard (9:59.57), and 1650-yard (16:28.04) freestyles … 2022 MVC Swimmer of the Year ... Five-time All-MVC first-teamer ... 2021-22 Season (Super Senior/Career Summary
Appeared in in all eight meets … First Team All-MVC honoree … 2022 MVC Swimmer of the Year … The most distinguished swimmer in MVC history … Went a perfect 15-0 in individual MVC Championships during her career … MVC Swimmer of the Week (Nov. 23) … Won the 500 freestyle (4:49.05), 200 freestyle ( 1:46.57) and 1,650 freestyle (16:39.67) at the MVC Championships (Feb. 16-19) … Also was a member of relay wins in the 400 freestyle, 400 medley, 800 freestyle at the MVC Championships … Garnered 10 individual wins on the season.
2020-21 Season (Senior)
Saw action in all six meets … First-team All-MVC selection… Made history by becoming the first MVC swimmer to go a perfect 12 for 12 in individual events by winning the Won the 1650 Freestyle (16:43.08) 500 freestyle (4:44.47) and 200 freestyle (1:46.72) at the MVC Championships (April 14-16) … Also swam legs in the 400 medley, 800 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay wins at the MVC Championships…Won both the 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle at Indiana State (March 20)… Set season-best times while winning the 50 backstroke (26.57), 400 IM (4:24.75) and 200 IM (2:03.26) at Southern Illinois (March 5)… Set season-best times in the 50 freestyle (23.78) and 1000 freestyle (10:00.42) against Little Rock (Feb. 15)… Was named MVC Swimmer of the Week twice... 2019-20 Season (Junior)

2018-19 Season (Sophomore)
First team All-MVC honoree...MVC Swimmer of the Week (12/4/18)…Swept individual events at the MVC Championships, collecting gold medals in the 500, 200, and 1650 freestyle…Contributed in each of the Bears’ first-place 200,400, and 800 freestyle championship relay finishes…Five first-place wins against conference opponents…Set program record in the 200 freestyle at Iowa Hawkeye Invitational.
2017-18 Season (Freshman)
MVC Women’s Freshman of the Year … Earned gold medals in the 200 free, 500 free, 1650 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay at the MVC Championships … Broke the school record in the 1000 and 1650 free and sits second all-time in the 200 and 500 free ... Was a member of the Bears’ record-setting 200, 400 and 800 free relays … All-MVC First-Team Selection … Started a successful freshman season in the Show-Me Showdown (Sept. 29) earning a silver medal in the 500 free and placing fifth in the 200 free … Clinched two more silver medals in the 200 and 500 free at the Bears’ home meet against Drury (Oct. 27) … Finished top-20 in the 500 free and 1650 free in the Purdue Invitational (Nov. 18) … Awarded silver medals in the 200 and 1000 free against the Bears’ second meeting with Drury (Jan. 18), while also adding a bronze in the 500 free … Ended her regular season against the Missouri Tigers taking second in the 1000 free and fifth in the 100 free (Jan. 20).
Background
Howell was a prominent member of the Swim Tulsa club team where she has seen competition in some of the top meets in the country. Howell, the top ranked swimmer out of Oklahoma, competed in the 2016 USA Swimming Futures Championships where she placed 8th in the 800m free. Howell competed at both the Region VIII Spring and Summer Sectionals where she placed fourth (Summer) and fifth (Spring) in the 800m free. Her top finishes of her junior season for Swim Tulsa were at the Elite meet where Howell placed third in both the 200 and 500yd free.
