Mo State Swim and Dive Completes Meet at Missouri

Day One Recap (Friday)
COLUMBIA, Mo. -Â Missouri State swimming and diving completed a two-day dual with Missouri on the men's side and both Missouri and Indiana State on the women's. The men fell to Missouri 104-249, while the women fell to Missouri 83-270 and Indiana State 161-192.
"I'm really pleased with how our team performed and competed this weekend," stated head coach Dave Collins. "The final scores don't tell the entire story of what we were able to accomplish in the pool. We had a number of career-best performances, and I thought our athletes showed a lot of toughness and competitiveness against very good competition. There are certainly areas where we need to continue improving, but we saw a lot of encouraging things this weekend. We have plenty to build on, and I like the direction we're heading."
Kiefer Roemer (So., Bettendorf, Iowa) won the 200 breaststroke (1:56.53) adding to his victory on day one in the 100 breaststroke (52.61).
Zach Mendez (So., Lansing, Kan.)Â also tallied another win with a strong performance in the 200 freestyle (1:36.79).
Anderson Brown (Sr., Kyle, Texas)Â added another second-place finish, with a time of 47.31 in the 100 butterfly.
On the women's side, Makenzie Kurre (Sr., Savannah, Mo.) collected silver in the 200 freestyle (1:49.32).
The Bears return to the pool on Oct. 29 when they travel to Westmont, Ill. for the Short Course World Championship Trials. Mo State then hosts its home opener the weekend of Oct. 30-31 against Omaha at Hammons Student Center.
