Brown Breaks School Butterfly Record on Day One at Missouri

DAY ONE RESULTS
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri State swimming and diving enjoyed a successful opening day here Friday, starting a two-day dual with Missouri on the men's side and both Missouri and Indiana State on the women's.
At the halfway point, the Missouri State men trail Missouri, 48-119, while the women trail Missouri, 41-126, and Indiana State, 75-92.
Anderson Brown (Sr., Kyle, Texas) set a new Mo State school record in the 200 butterfly with an impressive second place finish (1:43.72) following on from his brilliant performance in the Bears' season opened against Southern Illinois. He topped his own school record of 1:43.80 set on Feb. 27, 2026 at the MVC Championships.
Zach Mendez (So., Lansing, Kan.) took the victory in the 500 freestyle with a stunning time of 4:23.60, while Kiefer Roemer (So., Bettendorf, Iowa) won the 100 breaststroke (52.61) continuing his dominance in the breaststroke this year.
Missouri State's lone victory on the women's side came from Ané Meier (Sr., Pretoria, South Africa) who was dominant in the 200 Individual Medley, winning with a time of 2:00.53.
The meet resumes Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
