STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Missouri State track and field team collected 10 top-10 finishes on the first day of the Bulldog Relays Friday, hosted by Mississippi State at the Mike Sanders Track Complex.
The final day of the Bulldog Relays' field events start at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the javelin throw while running events will begin with the 4x100 relay at 12 p.m.
In the 800-meter run, senior
Megan Nickles posted a third-place time of 2:17.98.
Kayla Fallis crossed the finish line at 2:20.79 while
Selena Buckner crossed at 2:24.85 to finish fifth and sixth, respectfully.
Cindy Forde paced Missouri State in the 1,500-meter run, finishing with a time of 4:37.34 while newcomer
Paityn Howat posted a time of 4:48.36.
Savannah Beaver Aleckson turned in a time of 4:50.12.
Senior
Jessica Allen posted a personal-best time of 17:18.81, good for a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
In the 4x200-meter relay, Bears' quartet of
Shani Adams,
Asha Cave,
Marissa Kurtimah and
Maya Genard, combined for a time of 1:37.20 to finish second.
Junior
Daijha Heron leaped 11.71 meters to a third-place finish in the triple jump.
Senior
Melanie Raterman threw the discus 41.31 meters while
Brittany McPike tallied a distance of 37.74 meters, as the teammates finished eighth and tenth respectfully.
Raterman collected a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.88 meters. McPike completed the hammer throw in ninth, tallying 42.46 meters.
