The Bears' defense allowed only two goals at home during the season. 2005: As a sophomore, the defender started all 14 matches in which he played for the Bears, picking up an assist and recording five shots. Cooper's defensive prowess helped the Bears' defense hold opponents to 15 regular season goals, second-fewest in the MVC, and record a stretch of five consecutive shutouts in September, setting a new school record. 2004: Cooper made an immediate impression for the Bears, starting 13 of the 16 games he appeared in as a freshman. The St. Louis, Mo., native earned all-freshman honorable mention accolades from the MVC while helping MSU post an impressive 1.12 goals-against average. He posted one shot on goal for his only offensive statistic.
