Biography

At MSU: Third in catches among returning receivers, Payne Hall is the returning starter at tight end for the Bears. He transferred from Arkansas prior to last season and started all 10 games, notching 14 receptions for 195 yards and three touchdowns. He scored two TDs against Southeast Missouri State. His best receiving game was the season finale at Western Illinois, where he had three catches for 64 yards and a score.

Background: Hall came to MSU after transferring from Eastern Oklahoma State and, later, Arkansas. Hall played basketball, football, and baseball at Muldrow High, where he was also valedictorian of his senior class. He was named as the Region III Scholar-Athlete of the year in his final high school year.

Personal: His full name is Payne Henry Hall. He was born November 9, 1983, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Payne is the son of Dennis and Donna Hall. His academic major is agriculture business/marketing.
