Biography

At MSU: Jacob Elliott will get a shot at offensive tackle this season after working at center a year ago. He played in nine games last season, mostly at center. Elliott played in six MSU games in 2004 and three games the previous season as a redshirt freshman.

Background: Elliott joined the Bears from Plattsburg (Mo.) High, where he was a three-year grid letterman for coach Greg Smith. Elliott led the Tigers to conference and district titles his senior year and earned first team all-state, all-conference and Kansas City district honors. Elliott also received first team all-conference and Kansas City district honors on defense. He was a two-year letterman in both basketball and track and field.

Personal: His full name is Jacob Eugene Elliott. He was born August 3, 1983, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Thomas and Rebecca Elliott. His major is international business.
