2018: Gibbs made four mound appearances as a true freshman for the Bears, working a total of 5.0 innings in which he allowed two earned runs (3.60 ERA) ... Worked an inning of relief in the Bears 12-4 win over nationally-ranked Arkansas State (March 9), allowing three unearned runs on just one hit ... Turned in a scoreless inning in a victory against Seton Hall (March 17), before working a season-long 2.0 frames and allowing two runs on four hits against eventual national champion Oregon State (April 13) ... Capped his season with a perfect inning of relief against Illinois State in a 12-3 win that completed a series sweep of the Redbirds ...
