COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri State track and field brought home the 4x400-meter relay championship Friday to close out the Show-Me Showdown hosted by Missouri.
The relay team of
Whitney Farrington,
BreAna Garrett,
Meghan Halstead and
Seleena Morris won the race with a time of 3:49.08, the fastest time posted by any MoState team so far in the indoor season.
Missouri State fielded four total teams in the event. In the second heat of the day, the three other teams swept the heat.
Victory Ifah,
Katie Griffin,
Raegan Foster and
Cheria Galbreath finished third overall with a time of 3:57.07.

Tommi Martin placed sixth with a time of 4:06.45.

Rakiya Lang Kayleigh Jenkins and
Kamdyn Moody rounded out the relay with a time of 4:16.44 and an eight-place finish.
Five more Bears finished on the podium. Garrett had her first solo podium of her collegiate career with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash. The freshman recorded a time of 57.30, just .61 seconds behind the leader.
Sophomore
Olivia Rogers placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.59 and senior
Kamdyn Moody placed third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.14 seconds for a personal record in her first meet of the season.
Ella Cronhardt set a personal record of 4:58.81 with her second-place finish in the 1-mile run. Freshman
Maliya Clark rounded out the podiums with a third-place finish and an attempt of 11.43 in the triple jump.
Overall, the Bears had 15 top-five finishes and a total of 12 personal records.
"It was great to be back in action again today," head coach
Jordan Fife said. "I think the team really enjoyed the unique concept of the meet, having all of the D1 schools in Missouri competing against one another. We had several highlights, including 12 lifetime bests and a win in the 4x400-meter relay, which is a good sign for the first meet back from break. For others, it was a chance to shake the rust off and get an idea of what needs to be done over the next few weeks."
The Bears won't be missing Columbia for long. They will head back to Missouri for the Bob Teel Invitational on Jan. 25.
