Day Two Results
DES MOINS, Iowa – The Missouri State track and field team had another historic day at the Drake Relays, highlighted by a new school record being set in the 4x800-meter relay.
The Bears competed at a high level in three relays during day two in Des Moines, Iowa. Setting the program record in the 4x800m;
Edna Dar,
Paityn Howat,
Kayla Fallis and
Madeline Saville teamed up for an 8:58.06 10
th place finish. Besting the previous school record, set in 2017, nine seconds. Â
Qualifying for tomorrow's 4x100-meter final, the team of
Timeka Jordan,
Taryn Smiley,
Tomi Bamigbade and Namibia Claiver paced an eighth place finish in 46.44 seconds.
In the 4x1600-meter relay,
Grace Breiten,
Erica Wollmering, Dar and Howat captured eighth place on a 20:31.20 time.
The Bears jumpers started off the day with two top-25 finishes in the long jump.
Sidne' Williamson earned 18
th place with a 5.73-meter jump, while
Jamilah James took 22
nd on a 5.59m leap.
In the javelin,
Rochelle Etienne finished in ninth place with a solid 41.87m throw.
Olivia Ott takes 27
th place with a 33.6m toss.
Leading the way on the track was Smiley, who qualified for tomorrow's 100-meter finals in an 11.70 race, finishing in 6
th place.
Namibia Claiver captured a 13
th place finish in the 200-meter run in 24.49, three tenths of a second off of her season best.
In her second straight race under 14 seconds,
Chicago Bains (13.92) placed 14
th in the 100-meter hurdles.
The final day of the Drake Relays will start for Missouri State at 9:45 a.m. with the triple jump.
