At Missouri State: One of Missouri State[apos]s most-versatile all-around athletes, Ashley Arbon will provide depth on the infield and speed in the Bears[apos] outfield and on the basepaths in her third season with the Bears.
2008: Arbon saw action in 26 games as a junior, making five starts as the Bears[apos] designated player ... scored eight runs and was a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts ... was 2-for-11 as a pinch hitter ... had one hit in three at bats, stole a base and scored a run in MSU[apos]s 8-0 win over Central Arkansas (4/16) ... registered two separate streaks of scoring a run in three straight games (4/23 through 4/26 and 5/8 through 5/9).
2007: Arbon was a medical redshirt, suffering a season-ending knee injury in the Bears[apos] opener.Background: Arbon came to Missouri State from Garden City Community College, where she played two seasons for the Broncbusters. As a freshman, Arbon tied single-season school records with 12 home runs and six triples, as she earned first team all-region and second team all-conference honors. She batted .347 with 60 hits and 42 RBIs, and had a .682 slugging percentage in 2005. Last season, Arbon hit .250 with 28 hits, 3 home runs, 16 RBIs, and was seven-for-seven in stolen base attempts. At Tooele High School, Arbon led her team to back-to-back state championships in her final two seasons. As a senior captain, Arbon was named to the Utah Class 3A All-State First Team and was selected as the state tournament MVP and 3A All-State MVP by Deseret News in 2004.
Personal: Ashley Marie Arbon is the daughter of David Arbon and Jodie Gough. She was born November 19, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is majoring in psychology.
