Softball Adds Trio of Transfers

SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State softball added a trio of transfers to its roster, head coach Kasey Griffith announced today. The three new additions will be on the 2027 roster.
Delainey Bargfrede • RHP • 5-8 • Jr. • R/R • Fort Dodge, Iowa • Webster City HS / Western Kentucky
Bargfrede spent the past two seasons at fellow Conference USA member Western Kentucky. As a freshman at WKU, she appeared in 10 games with one start. She finished her freshman campaign with a 2.89 earned run average and a 1-0 record after tossing 26.2 innings and striking out 11. Last year as a sophomore, Bargfrede made three appearances in the circle with 7.0 innings pitched on the season.
The Webster City, Iowa, native was a multi-sport athlete at Webster City High, playing volleyball, basketball and softball. On the diamond, she was a three-time first-team all-conference selection and a three-time all-state honoree for the Lynx. Bargfrede helped lead the Lynx to two conference titles and was named the Freeman Journal Female Athlete of the Year as a senior after going 15-6 in the circle with a 1.18 ERA. She also struck out 218 batters in 138.1 innings with a .186 opposing batting average during her senior campaign. As a sophomore, she broke Webster City's single-game record with 20 strikeouts.
Aleah Brooks • INF • 5-10 • So. • L/R • Cheyenne, Wyo. • Cheyenne East HS / Louisiana Tech
Brooks spent last season at now former Conference USA member Louisiana Tech. As a freshman for the Bulldogs, she appeared in 53 games with 46 starts. Brooks batted .308 with 41 hits, 21 RBI, 20 walks, 14 runs, nine doubles and two home runs. She was also a member of the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and was a CUSA Academic Medalist.
The Cheyenne, Wyo., native was a three-time first-team all-state and all-conference selection at Cheyenne East High. Brooks broke the Wyoming high school single-season home run record with 15 as a junior. During her junior campaign, she batted .558 with a .678 on-base percentage and 49 RBI to earn the Cheyenne WyoSports Player of the Year and a Gatorade Player of the Year nomination. As a freshman, Brooks was named a USA Today nominee for the Girls Rising Star of the Year award. A two-sport athlete, she also played volleyball for one season as a senior, earning first-team all-conference and second-team all-state recognition for the Thunderbirds.
Jenna Edwards • RHP • 5-7 • So. • R/R • Carrollton, Mo. • Carrollton HS / Wichita State
Edwards spent her freshman season at Wichita State, where she redshirted. She was named to the DISoftball D100 Freshman watch list prior to the 2026 season.
The Carrollton, Mo., native put together an incredible career at Carrollton High, leading the Lady Trojans to three conference championships, two district championships and one state title. Edwards was a four-time first-team selection at the conference, district and regional levels, and earned all-state recognition three times. As a senior, she was named an NFCA High School All-American after striking out 215 batters and owning a 0.71 ERA. She was a dual-threat, also batting .602 with 20 doubles and eight home runs during her senior campaign. During her junior season, Edwards owned a 1.06 ERA with 232 strikeouts and was once named the Extra Innings Softball High School National Player of the Week. She also owned a sub-1.00 ERA as a sophomore at 0.89 and struck out 210 batters. Her highlight performance as a sophomore was a seven inning, 20-strikeout outing.
