2010: Porter posted career highs for batting
average (.265), hits (26) and stolen bases (6) in 37 starts as a junior ...
batted .311 in MVC play and hit .357 at home ... had hits in just 3-of-20
(.150) at bats vs. lefties, but hit .295 against right-handers ... recorded a
six-game hitting streak (March 18-27) over which she hit .353 (6-for-17) ...
recorded six of her eight multi-hit games on the year over an eight-game
stretch, April 18 to May 2, batting .500 (13-for-26) ... went 3-for-3 against
Drake (April 18) with two runs scored and her lone double of the year in MSU[apos]s
6-0 win over the Bulldogs ... had a standout series against Indiana State (May
1-2), going 6-for-11 (.545) with two steals and two RBIs.
2009: Porter missed most of the month of March with an ankle injury before returning to full strength to start the final 13 games of the season ... made 18 starts in left field and four in right ... recorded her lone multi-hit game of the season on Feb. 20 at North Texas, going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in an extra-innings, 2-1 MSU win.
2008: Porter made 41 starts in the MSU outfield as a freshman, batting .205 with three steals ... occupied the No. 2 spot in the Bears[apos] lineup in 24 games ... recorded six multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 day against Illinois State (3/21) ... posted a five-game hit streak from March 1-12, batting .412 with two RBIs and five runs scored over that stretch ... had two hits and scored a pair of runs in the Bears[apos] 13-3 win over Central Arkansas (2/24) ... went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, a stolen base and two runs scored against Saint Louis (3/12) ... was 2-for-3 in MSU[apos]s win at #11 Oklahoma (3/19) to start a three-game stretch in which she posted six hits in nine at-bats.
Background: Along with current Bear infielder Jenna Schwark, Porter helped lead Broken Arrow (Okla.) High School to the Oklahoma 6A state championship as a senior, as the Lady Tigers set a school record in wins with a 41-1 record ... earned All-Frontier Conference, all-region, and all-state honors as a senior outfielder ... lettered on four regional championship and two state championship teams during her prep career.
