At Missouri State: As one of two freshman pitchers on the MSU roster, Jourdan Esquenazi will be looked upon to make an immediate impact in the circle for the Bears in her first collegiate season.
Background: Esquenazi went 33-10 with a 2.08 earned run average over her last two prep seasons at Prosper High School ... batted .402 over the same stretch ... named Texas District 9-3A Pitcher of the Year in 2009, after going 18-5 with a 1.58 ERA and 220 strikeouts in just 124.0 innings pitched in 2009 ... also named her team[apos]s defensive MVP as a junior when she led Prosper to a regional semifinal appearance and a 26-10 overall record ... earned 9-3A[apos]s Utility Player of the Year honor in helping the Eagles to a district co-championship.
