At Missouri State: Groh will give the Bears added versatility at midfield or defense. Background: Groh was a four-year starter on the pitch for head coach Tom Pecore at Putnam City North. His senior campaign, he led his team to the conference title as he scored six goals and recorded eight assists. He helped the Panthers to the state quarterfinals for the third consecutive year. His Putnam City North squad was ranked as the No. 1 team in the country during the 2010 spring. Groh was named to the all-city, all-district, all-region and all-state squads as a senior. During his junior season, his team went 14-2, winning the conference and district titles. He has recorded a goal and an assist in his junior and sophomore seasons. Groh was named to the All-Metro Conference team, The Oklahoman second team and all-Tribune first team his sophomore season. His freshman campaign, he scored five goals, a school record for a freshman on the varsity squad, to earn All-Metro Conference first team honors. His team reached the state finals his freshman season before falling in a shootout. Personal: Steven Tyler Groh is the son of Charlie and Debbi Groh. He was born December 5, 1991, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He is undecided on a major at Missouri State.
