GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four Missouri State track and field student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this week.

Whitney Farrington,
Brooke Jenkins and
Mia McLain have earned the award.

Brown appeared in seven meets for the Bears and recorded a career-high of 3.35-meters in pole vault at the Arkansas Twilight (May 3) and the John Jacobs College Invitational (Apr. 12-13). She is ranked No. 46 in the Midwest and No. 492 nationally by the Track & Field Reporting Results System (TFRRS). Brown maintains a 3.70 GPA with a major in Marketing.

Farrington competed in 13 of the Bears' 14 meets on the 2023-24 schedule. She finished sixth in the 400-meter finals at the MVC Indoor Championship with a time of 56.30 then finished fifth in the 400-meter finals at the MVC Outdoor Championship with a time of 55.49. The sophomore is ranked No. 35 in the Midwest and No. 327 nationally. Farrington was named to the All-MVC Scholar Athlete team and has maintained a 3.54 GPA in Kinesiology.

Jenkins competed in 10 meets for the Bears and recorded a career-best in triple jump with an attempt of 11.75-meters at the John Jacobs College Invitational (Apr. 11-13). She is ranked No. 48 in the Midwest and No. 415 in the country. Jenkins was also named to the All-MVC Scholar-Athlete Team and maintained an undergraduate GPA of 3.56 with a graduate GPA of 3.77 with a major in Movement and Exercise Science.

McLain competed in 12 meets for the Bears. At the MVC Outdoor Championship, she placed eighth in the 3000-meter Steeplechase finals with a time of 11:02.96. The senior is ranked No. 33 in the Midwest and No. 262 nationally. McLain was named to the All-MVC Scholar-Athlete team for track and field and cross country. She maintains a 4.00 GPA with a major in Speech-Language Pathology.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District awards, athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) during their undergraduate and graduate careers, must be a sophomore both academically and athletically and must be ranked in the top-50 in a region in an individual event according to TFRRS.
