April 14, 2018

Final Results
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – During a windy weekend in Arkansas, the Missouri State track and field team saw records set, and improvements made during the final day of the John McDonnell Invitational, here on Saturday.

Breaking the 3,000-meter program record, Jessica Allen recorded first place in the event with a 9:41.32 time. Allen outpaced the old school record by six seconds and finished ahead of the next competitor by 10 seconds.

In the triple jump finals, Daijha Heron and Jamilah James came away with fourth and fifth place finishes respectively. Heron marked a 12.11m leap, good enough for a top five distance in the Missouri Valley Conference, while James set an 11.97m jump.

Freshman Rochelle Etienne took second place in the shot put with an 11.89m throw. Chelsey Linton (11.40m) and Olivia Ott (9.95m) also recorded third and fourth place finishes for the Bears.

Missouri State will continue the 2018 outdoor season next weekend, as they travel to Columbia, Mo., for the Tom Botts Invitational.
