NORMAL, Ill. – Missouri State's series finale with Illinois State has been cancelled due to steady rainfall in the Bloomington-Normal area.

MSU claimed the first game of the series with an 8-5 victory Thursday evening, before the Redbirds rebounded to stop the Bears' 22-game MVC regular-season win streak with an 8-4 decision Friday.

The Bears will enter the 2017 MVC Baseball Championship as the top seed after finishing with an 18-1 Valley mark. MSU, which will serve as host to the league's postseason tournament for the fourth time at Hammons Field, will open tourney play with a 7:30 p.m. game Wednesday (May 24) evening against the eighth-seeded Redbirds.
