AUSTIN, Texas – Missouri State senior
Melanie Raterman kicked off the Bears' time in Texas on Thursday (March 30) with a third-place finish in the javelin throw at the 90
th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, presented by Spectrum. Raterman's distance of 44.23 meters also notched her a new personal best in the event.
In the 400-meter hurdles, senior
Shani Adams finished fourth in her heat with a time of 59.92, good for 19
th overall. Freshman
Chicago Bains crossed the finish line at 1:04.23 for sixth place in her heat.
At the Bobcat Invitational, on the campus of Texas State, redshirt freshman
Amanthi Silva posted a distance of 36.35 meters to place 16
th in the discus.
The Missouri State track and field team is back in action on Friday (March 31) at the Texas Relays, with the 4x100 meter relay set to start at 9:35 a.m. The Bears' will also compete in the 100-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash and 4x400 meter relay events in the morning session, while the distance medley relay will be in the evening. MSU will compete in the hammer throw and 100-meter dash at the Bobcat Invitational in the afternoon.
