Bears in Eighth After Day One in Arizona

Loyola Intercollegiate Day One

The Missouri State men's golf team sits in the middle of the 16-team field at eighth place after round one of the Loyola Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona. The Bears shot 286 on the 7015 yd. Palm Valley Golf Club course, just 11 behind the leader Eastern Michigan (275).
 
Pacing the way for the Bears is junior John Fuchs, shooting a 3-under-par 69. Fuchs' three birdies on his last five holes of the day were good enough to put him in a tie for seventh. Sophomores Adam Fisher and Jack Knoesel each had 71 to tie for 22nd. Kory Franks and Christopher Obert are tied for 70th with 75.
 
The Bears start round two Sunday with the final round set for Monday.
